Brucite

Oxide mineral

Brucite is the mineral form of magnesium hydroxide (OH in marble vein and chlorite; and formed during serpentinization. Brucite is often found in association with serpentine , aragonite , magnesite, talc.

It adopts a layered CdI2-like structure with hydrogen-bonds between the layers.
